Managed Infrastructure Services Market Gives Remote Monitoring a 38% Share as companies need round-the-clock visibility across IT systems

Tata Consultancy Services expanded its managed infrastructure services agreement with a major European telecommunications operator across 12 markets in January 2025, one of several recent moves reshaping a sector that new research from FactMR values at USD 8.8 billion in 2025, with the Managed Infrastructure Services Market projected to reach USD 25.4 billion by 2036 — a 10.2% CAGR over the 2026–2036 forecast window.

The TCS deal, covering network monitoring, cloud migration and security operations, lands alongside a wave of platform investment from rivals. IBM expanded its watsonx AIOps suite with enhanced observability and automation features in October 2024. HCL Technologies followed a month later, launching its Ivy platform for AI-driven root cause analysis and predictive maintenance. DXC Technology, meanwhile, has leaned into government and defense contracts, where its legacy footprint gives it an edge competitors are still building toward. Each move targets a different piece of the same shift: enterprises handing infrastructure monitoring, disaster recovery and compliance work to specialized outside providers rather than building it in-house.

Why Regulation Is Now a Bigger Growth Driver Than Contract Volume

For years, managed infrastructure providers competed largely on price and headcount. That's changing. The EU's Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), which took full effect in January 2025, now requires financial institutions to maintain strict ICT third-party risk management standards — pushing banks and insurers toward managed disaster-recovery and security-audit contracts they previously handled internally. Accenture has already reported a 22% jump in EU financial-services outsourcing tied to DORA compliance. South Korea's government is driving a similar shift through its Digital New Deal 2.0 program, which allocated KRW 2.3 trillion in 2024 toward cloud migration and IT outsourcing, while updated cybersecurity rules from KISA now require government-linked entities to work only with certified managed security providers.

That regulatory pressure is changing what buyers pay for. FactMR's analysis finds standard remote monitoring — still the largest service category at roughly 38% share in 2026 — is under real pricing pressure from hyperscaler-native alternatives. Bundled offerings that combine AIOps, disaster recovery and compliance work, by contrast, command 30–50% higher pricing, since buyers are prioritizing audit-readiness and reliability over cost alone.

Where the Managed Infrastructure Services Market Is Growing Fastest

South Korea leads country-level growth in the Managed Infrastructure Services Market at an 11.0% CAGR through 2036, followed by the United States at 10.8%, Japan at 10.6%, the United Kingdom at 10.5% and the European Union at 10.3%. In the U.S., roughly 42% of enterprises now use AI in IT operations, according to IBM's own adoption data, fueling AIOps-based monitoring demand — while updated HIPAA rules have pushed hospitals to outsource security audits and compliance work in a pattern distinct from Europe's DORA-driven surge.

"Growth depends more on AIOps, zero-trust security, and DORA-aligned capabilities than contract volume," said Shambhu Nath Jha, Senior Consultant at FactMR. Jha's assessment underscores a market where technical differentiation, not headcount or price alone, is increasingly what separates providers winning renewals from those losing ground.
