U4GM Guide to Diablo 4 Mythic Gear

Mythic gear can change a Season 14 build overnight, but waiting for a lucky world drop is a slow way to get there. If you want a more focused route, start by building up your stock of Obols and checking the Purveyor of Curiosities. Spending that currency on D4 items may feel like a gamble, but polearms give this method a much narrower target than most other gear slots.

Why Polearms Are Worth the Gamble

The useful part of this trick is not simply that polearms can be Mythic. It is the size of the item pool behind them. Compared with categories that include many possible unique and Mythic results, polearms offer fewer outcomes, with only one Mythic item in the relevant pool. That does not make every purchase a winner, of course. Still, each roll has less competition from unwanted possibilities. You will notice the difference once you start spending Obols in large batches rather than making one or two attempts between activities.

Set the Difficulty Before Spending Obols

Do not rush to the vendor before checking your difficulty setting. The Purveyor's top-end rewards depend on the Torment tier, so the strategy should be used on Torment 12 or above. Lower settings can waste a good supply of Obols because they do not offer the same chance at Mythic-quality results. The safest routine is simple: enter the correct difficulty, visit the vendor, and only then begin gambling. It takes a few seconds, and it prevents an annoying mistake.

A Practical Farming Routine

Obols come from several parts of normal play, including events and other repeatable activities. Save them instead of spending them whenever the vendor happens to be nearby. When your balance is healthy, run a full gambling session. Keep the process quick and do not judge the method after a handful of rolls. The results can be streaky. Some players may see nothing useful for a while, then pull more than one Mythic during the same visit. A simple routine helps you measure your results.

  1. Play on Torment 12 or higher.
  2. Collect Obols through events and regular seasonal content.
  3. Choose polearms at the Purveyor of Curiosities.
  4. Salvage unwanted Mythics for Resplendent Sparks.

Turn Bad Rolls Into Progress

A polearm will not suit every class or build, and that is fine. An unwanted Mythic still has value because salvaging it provides Resplendent Sparks. Take those materials to the Alchemist and use them to craft the Mythic you actually need. This gives the method a second layer of value: even an item that does not fit your character can move you closer to the right one. Keep farming when your Obols allow it, and treat each session as progress toward stronger, more useful gear through cheap D4 items rather than relying on open-world luck alone.
